Position: Maintenance
& Project Engineer (Full time / Part time)

Role:
This role is a career opportunity
for an engineer to join a small, growing business in the energy sector. The
position would suit an individual who is a self-starter, well-organised,
conscientious and has a solid engineering background.
The primary role will be to assist a
key client to manage the maintenance of their building services and
facility energy use, including project engineering of building services
projects. A secondary aspect of the
role will be energy consultancy and project engineering.
We are inviting applications from
candidates for a full time permanent position. We will also consider applications for
part time work; such applicants should state their availability.
Responsibilities
The candidate will have
responsibility for:

Working
with and managing the relationship with a key client to manage maintenance
of their building services and facility energy use.

Design, procure, and supervise repair and
installation projects, including energy efficiency projects.
·
Undertaking
energy and condition surveys of clients’ energy usage and the preparation
of detailed reports of how energy savings can be achieved.
Activities
The role
will be based at a key client premises for approximately 3 days per week,
and will work closely with client’s maintenance contractors. Day to day
activities will include operating the building management system to
continuously optimise plant operation; reviewing and commenting on monthly
energy reports; investigating building services issues and arranging
appropriate solutions; inspecting plant rooms and documenting findings; managing
maintenance to ensure compliance with industry recognised best practices
and statutory requirements, and to minimise energy use; designing, procuring,
and supervising repair and installation projects; liaising with client
staff, managing and minuting regular client
progress meetings; preparing annual progress reports and strategic plans;
implementation of published plans.
Energy
consultancy activities will include energy and condition surveys, design
and supervision of energy efficiency projects, special investigations and
other work as required. This work will offer significant potential for
the employee to broaden their skill-set and experience.
Background
Desired
Skills and Expertise
Applicants
must hold mechanical or building services engineering qualification (Level
7 or 8), with 8-10 years of practical experience, including managing or
supervising contractors. The
applicant must have good written and verbal communication skills, and
numeracy skills. They must have a solid understanding of building services.
They must be a self-starter who is well-organised, conscientious and hard
working.
Experience
in public procurement procedures and knowledge of building services
controls would be advantageous. Experience undertaking energy surveys would
also be an advantage, but is not essential, as on the job training will be
provided.

understanding of the implications of this.
Remuneration
Remuneration
package will be attractive including a performance related bonus, depending
on the candidate’s experience and skill set.
